Potterton Commercial has developed a modular condensing heating system for installation into existing and new build plant rooms.

The Potterton Commercial modular prefabricated condensing heating system is available in eight sizes from 100 - 1100kW outputs. The Sirius MB Series is designed around the Potterton Commercial Sirius WH Series of modulating condensing boilers with operational efficiencies of up to 107% net.

The Sirius MB Series includes an integral intelligent control system that allows modulation of the boilers down to extremely low outputs to match the system load and maintain optimum system efficiency.

Versatile flue options are available, allowing combined flues, conventional open flue or room sealed flue arrangements to be utilised. The heating system incorporates duplex pumps with flow proving, automatic change over and load scheduling for optimum redundancy provision. The pump is sized for distribution through the boilers and heating system.

The Potterton Commercial Sirius MB Series is designed for direct weather compensation to control the heating load. The pump circuit incorporates an automatic integral bypass valve which allows the Sirius MB Series to be used on systems with flow reducing devices such as thermostatic radiator valves.

This configuration has operating and capital cost advantages over the traditional design of primary and secondary circuits. It maximises the boiler efficiencies by utilising the low temperature system return water. The costs associated with traditional low loss header systems and secondary pumps are eliminated, and the electrical consumption from the heating pumps is reduced.
