Over 100 Baxi employees have joined forces at its customer support centre in Warwick to take telephone donations for this year's Sport Relief.
Employees from Norwich, Wokingham, Preston, Erdington and field based engineers and sales employees joined their Warwick-based colleagues to man the telephones.
The team answered 2,311 calls during the charity's live entertainment show, which was aired on BBC1, and took £67,549 in donations.
Andrew Maclagan, Managing Director of Baxi Commercial, kept everyone's spirits high by giving regular updates on progress throughout the night. He commented: "We are so pleased to have been able to raise so much for such a fantastic cause. Our employees worked extremely hard and we really did have a great time doing it. It's great to be able to help."
Baxi would like to thank local businesses Balloon Monkey for donating balloons to decorate the call centre, Rumbles Catering and Domino's pizza who donated food which helped to keep the team going. D&G and Cognito also provided prizes, fruit and refreshments and Chesford Grange Hotel who provided discounted rooms to employees who travelled long distances.
As one of the UK's biggest fundraising events, Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get active, have fun and raise life-changing cash. The grand total raised by the public was over £51 million which will help people living unimaginably tough lives, both at home in the UK and in Africa.
