The heating and hot water industry has a history of fostering innovative concepts and design, which are successfully developed by market leaders
such as Baxi Commercial Division. For larger commercial buildings, Potterton Commercial, part of Baxi Commercial Division, provides prefabricated heating and hot water solutions at the leading edge for energy efficiency and cost savings. Feedback from the market gave a strong indication of the need for a packaged option, providing space heating and hot water for smaller businesses. Accordingly a special solution has been developed by Potterton Commercial and earlier this year the new iHE was launched.
With all the inherent benefits of a prefabricated solution, the iHE is delivered ready to install, offers life cycle energy saving and is 'plug and play'. This unique package boiler range delivers space heating and hot water from a bank of heat engines and a storage cylinder enclosed within a single casing. The stainless steel condensing heat engines, with premix modulating gas burners, achieve 96% gross efficiency. The iHE is room sealed for use with either vertical or horizontal flue systems and can integrate hot water production with low/zero carbon technologies for pre-heat, thereby minimising the input required from fossil fuels.
The new boiler has versatile control options for space heating and hot water profiles, including weather compensation with optimum stop and start, frost protection, module sequencing and load sharing. There are two models in the range. One incorporates two 50kW heat engine modules providing 100kW of space heating, whilst the other has three 50kW heat engine modules offering a space heating capability of 150kW. Both models have a stainless steel cylinder that will store 300 litres of domestic hot water and achieve impressive recovery rates of 1,520 litres/hour and 2,240 litres/hour respectively _T50oC.. The iHE weighs from 315kg, with compact dimensions of 1970H x 1450W x 685D and carries a minimum two year warranty.
