Help a voluntary organisation in your community

23/01/2014

We are delighted to announce that BSEE and Baxi Commercial are collaborating once again to offer one lucky reader the chance to help out their community! If you know of a local voluntary funded organisation that operates out of a building with poor heating and/or hot water provision, you could help them by entering the 2014 Baxi Commercial Community Challenge to win a commercial sized central heating boiler or water heater.

Be inspired in 2014 by last year's winner who secured a Potterton Commercial Paramount boiler and an Andrews FASTflo water heater for the Wincobank Village Hall Project.

Baxi Commercial offers one of the broadest ranges of commercial high efficiency condensing boilers and direct fired water heaters, together with compatible low and zero carbon solutions, currently available in the UK. If you know of a local voluntary organisation that could benefit from winning the 2014 Baxi Commercial Community Challenge, don't let them miss out on this tremendous opportunity.

Winning Words

The 2013 winner, Wincobank Village Hall, is a project being undertaken to serve one of the most deprived areas in South Yorkshire, which is high on the Multiple Indices of Deprivation Index. After a gap of some seven years without a community building, the Wincobank Community Buildings Group, comprising local residents and community group volunteers, is driving forward the refurbishment of a derelict building which will become Wincobank Village Hall.

When completed, later in the year, it will provide a safe, modernised and welcoming facility where groups of all ages, interests and abilities can meet in the very heart of this locality. These will include the senior citizen's, parent and toddlers, Scouts and youth groups, a community cafe, education and learning for both children and adults as well as additional space for the St Thomas boxing club, which helps to channel persistent truants and ex-offenders back into education.

"The Wincobank Community Buildings Group is absolutely delighted it has won the 2013 Baxi Commercial Community Challenge,” affirms their spokesperson, Dr Bridget Ingle. "Wincobank has been without a community building for seven years. The donation of the boiler and hot water heater is key to the building being fully operational for community use. The members of the group work on a voluntary basis and are delighted that in winning this award the importance of this project has been recognised by Baxi Commercial."

The winner could be any one of a diverse number of local organisations, as entries are not restricted to registered charities. We are happy to hear about any community projects where a new commercial sized space heating and/or hot water provision would make a real difference to the people using the building.
